Frequently Asked Questions

  1. What is Bags-it?

Bags-it is run in a similar fashion to a regular auction but with a twist - fares will only ever reduce, rather than increase. The fares will reduce in price at random amounts throughout the day until the auction finishes. Prices will start at the lowest rate on the day and will fall by random amounts at every fare drop, but customers will need to keep their wits about them as holding out too long could mean that someone else will get ahead and "Bags-it" first.

  2. How can I improve my chances of getting a Bags-it deal?

We want you to have the best chance of getting a Bags-it deal, so here are a few tips:

    • Make www.Bags-it.co.uk your home page
    • Check the website regularly
    • Be spontaneous and act quickly
    • Consider using a broadband internet connection instead of dial-up
    • Be flexible with travel dates, number of passengers or the destination
    • Once you have clicked on the 'bags-it' button on the fare page, select 'Show prices across a week' in order to quickly find the dates on which these fares are available within the stated travel period
    • Store your details for next time:
Pretend to book on Bags-it or the airnewzealand.co.uk website.
Click through to the TRAVELLER DETAILS page, tick the Remember these details for next time box and enter the passenger details.
Click continue and then close the page. (For more info select the Info link next to the tick box)
  3. How often do new deals go on sale?

This varies and can be quite random. Check the Bags-it site regularly and be ready to pounce, because you never know when these extremely popular deals will appear.

  4. I was in the middle of booking but the ticket sold why did this happen?

Seats are not held during the booking process, so while you were only part way through your booking other people would have completed theirs and the seat(s) you selected sold out. Try changing the travel date(s), number of passengers or even the destination. If you still have no luck, please refer to question 2, to improve your chances for next time.

  5. I can't find the low Bags-it deals but the counter says they're still available.

The deals that are still showing will be for specific flights and travel dates, and the number of seats left can be spread over different flights on different days. Try changing the travel date(s), number of passengers or the destination. If you still have no luck, please refer to question 2, to improve your chances for next time.

  6. How many seats do you put on Bags-it each week?

This varies from promotion to promotion, but there will be at least 25.

  7. What are the terms and conditions for the Bags-it fares?

These fares are only available online for one day only or until sold out. Seats are strictly limited - see the online 'counter' for the number of seats left. Travel periods are strictly limited and fares may not be available on all flights or days during stated travel period. Flight restrictions and routing restrictions apply. Prices are per person, child discounts do not apply. They are non-refundable. Date changes are permitted at any time, however a service fee applies and an additional payment may be required if original fare not available or applicable for the new date of travel you wish to change to. Other Global Saver Max fare terms, and general terms and conditions apply

  8. Are Bags-it deals only available online?

    Yes they are.

  9. How can I find out when flights from my city are on sale?

The cities featured on Bags-it vary daily, but you do have a few options to find out what's on offer:

    • Your best bet is to check the Bags-it website regularly
    • You can get an RSS feed from the Bags-it website that tells you where the day's flights are to and from
  10. Is there a child or infant price for Bags-it deals?

We think our Bags-it deals are so good that there is no need for child or infant discounts.
